HBA of Northern Colorado Membership Details

The Home Builders Association of Northern Colorado are construction professionals and industry partners advocating for the health of our industry, our communities, and the success of our members. Members include:

The HBA of Northern Colorado has three membership categories: Builder, Associate, and Affiliate:

 

Builder Members 
Builder memberships cost $765 per year.  Every month, Builder Members pay additional permit assessments, based on the type and quantity of each new-build permit pulled within the Northern Colorado region. This primarily includes Larimer & Weld Counties.

• Each Builder Member's building permits are assessed on the following scale rate:
  For the first 300 building permits pulled per year:

  • Single-Family Detached Homes: $65 per permit

  • Multi-Family Attached Homes (condos, townhomes, paired): $35 per permit/door

  • Multi-Family Dwellings (Built for Rent): $25 per door

• Each Remodeler's permits are based on the assessed value on the following scale rate:

  • $35.00 for all permits under $25,000 ​

  • $55.00 for all permits $25,001 and above 

The HBA invoices Builder Members for those assessments on a monthly basis. Each Builder's permit assessments are capped at 300 homes.

Associate Members  
Associate memberships cost $765 per year. This membership is for industry professional that do not build or pull permits. This includes suppliers, trades, and financial institutions.

Affiliate Members  
Affiliate memberships cost $85 per year. Affiliate membership are for the employees of an associate or builder member. Affiliate members receive their own unique listing in the membership directory and hold their own membership with the National Association of Home Builders.

Who’s the Member?

Membership is for the joining company and provides opportunities for all employees to become involved and take advantage of Member benefits.

How does the process work?

Your request for membership is reviewed by the HBA’s Board of Directors. When your company has been approved, the information is shared with the Colorado Association of Home Builders and the National Association of Home Builders, which activates all three memberships.

 

Annual membership for Associate members is $765 per year. Annual Builder membership is $765 plus monthly permit assessments on new-build permits.  Your renewal is on the anniversary of the date you joined. For example, if you join in March 2025, your renewal month will be March 2026.

Please note: Dues payments to HBA of Northern Colorado are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. However, dues payments may be deductible as ordinary and necessary business expense, subject to exclusion for lobbying activity. Because a portion of your dues is used for lobbying by NAHB and CAHB, 11%, or $87, is not deductible for income tax purposes.
